Practice on Friday at Monaco may not reveal much about what will happen in the race because track conditions will change so much in the course of the next two days (the next F1 sessions will not happen until Saturday). For the record however Juan Pablo Montoya was quickest in his McLaren. In the afternoon session Fernando Alonso was on top of the timesheets in his Renault ahead of the McLaren of Alexander Wurz and David Coulthard's Red Bull. Giancarlo Fisichella was fourth in his Renault with Montoya and Kimi Raikkonen next for McLaren and then an impressive Vitantonio Liuzzi. The top 10 was completed by Felipe Massa, who went sideways into the barriers at Ste Devote with a minute to go, Ralf Schumacher and Toyota test driver Ricardo Zonta. Michael Schumacher was 11th ahead of Mark Webber and Jarno Trulli.
