Nico Rosberg was quickest on Friday and he repeated the feat in Free Practice 3 on Saturday morning as he beat out Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton. Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) and Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) rounded out the top four.

The line-up for the weekend was: Mercedes Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. Red Bull Renault Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat. Williams Mercedes Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas. Ferrari Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen. McLaren Honda Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button. Force India Mercedes Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez. Toro Rosso Renault Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz. Lotus Mercedes Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado. Marussia Ferrari Will Stevens and Alexander Rossi. Sauber Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr.

Rosberg likes the track.

"The track reminds me very much of my youth," he said. "It feels like a kart circuit with a lot of very tight corners and the two stadiums are really spectacular with all the fans. We brought the same rear wing here as we would use in Monaco, with maximum downforce.

"But, because of the altitude here in Mexico City, we are also very quick on the straights which feels very strange. I was happy with the outcome today. It seems that we are quick and I was able to try a lot of different things with the car. I'm really enjoying it here and I can't wait for qualifying and the race."

Stevens was the first out. And Massa set the early quick time 1:23.803.

The track was dry but still had not grip. "It's very slippery out there - very difficult to find any grip," radioed Perez.

13 minutes into the session, Raikkonen parked his Ferrari at Turn 10. The smoking car had lost power.

15 minutes into the session, the top six were: Hulkenberg, Kvyat, Perez, Massa, Vettel and Raikkonen.
