Practice 1 Report - Zonta sets the pace

Toyota's Ricardo Zonta set a best time in testing on Friday morning at Sepang with a lap of 1m34.092s well clear of the rest of the field, an indication that his rivals were probably not pushing too hard, keen to preserve their engines in the oppressive heat of Malaysia.

Third fastest was Red Bull Racing's Vitantonio Liuzzi

The Renault team did not complete a timed lap with Giancarlo Fisichella and Fernando Alonso happy to watch the action.
