Kimi Raikkonen's future at Ferrari is secure and to celebrate the announcement of another two years to come, the Finn set the fastest time of the second session on Friday at Monza. He was chased by Robert Kubica in his BMW Sauber and Lewis Hamilton in his McLaren-Mercedes.

Nico Rosberg was fourth fastest in his Williams-Toyota and Felipe Massa was next up in his Ferrari. Sixth fastest was Heikki Kovalainen in the second McLaren with Mark Webber's Red Bull-Renault next and then a surprise in Adrian Sutil's Force India.

Sebastian Vettel was ninth fastest in his Toro Rosso-Ferrari ahead of David Coulthard's Red Bull and Sebastien Bourdais's Toro Rosso. The Force India of Giancarlo Fisichella was next with the two Hondas of Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button doing rather better than of late.

Kazuki Nakajima was 16th overall with the two Toyotas being surprisingly slow with Timo Glock 17th and Jarno Trulli 19th. The pair were split by the Renault of Fernando Alonso, while Nelson Piquet in the second Renault was 20th, having stopped out on the race track.
