Lewis Hamilton's McLaren (1:21.995) stayed on top of the times in Hungary but yet more wet weather halfway through FP2 rendered times even more inconclusive than ever on a grand prix Friday.

Rain fell with half an hour of the session remaining and means that for the third event in a row teams will head into Sunday afternoon's race without a full picture of how the tyres perform on longer runs. More limited information will come from Saturday morning's final free practice session, weather permitting.

For the record, the top 10 was completed by KImi Raikkonen's Lotus (1:22.180), Bruno Senna's Williams (1:22.253), the Ferraris of Massa (1:22.417) and Alonso (1:22.582), Button's Mclaren (1:22.747); Di Resta's Force India (1:22.794); Vettel's Red Bull (1:22.824), Grosjean's Lotus (1:22.922) and Schumacher's Mercedes (1:23.160).

The seven times champion then crashed at Turn 12 during a run on intermediates on a wet track, conditions in which Sergio Perez's Sauber was quickest.

Hamilton took no further part in the session: "The track was wet in some places and dry in other, so no point in wasting tyres," was his assessment.
