Race Notes - Raikkonen wins Australian GP

Kimi Raikkonen won the Australian GP in Melbourne today in his Lotus-Renault, beating Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari in second place by 12.4 seconds, and reigning world champions Sebastian Vettel, who finished third in his Red Bull-Renailt, 22.3 seconds behind.

Felipe Massa (33.5s) in the second Ferrari was fourth, followed by Lewis Hamilton (45.5s) in the Mercedes GP in fifth, Mark Webber (46.8s) in the second Red Bull in sixth, Adrian Sutil (65.0s) in the Force India-Mercedes in seventh, his team mate Paul di Resta (68.4s) in eighth, Jenson Button (81.6s) in the McLaren-Mercedes was ninth, and Romain Grosjean (82.7s) in the Lotus rounded out the top ten scoring points.

In the race Raikkonen, who started in seventh on the grid, executed a two-stop strategy to perfection, while the next five top finishers made three stops.
