German GP date change

The 2013 German GP, scheduled for July 14, has been brought forward a week to July 07, and will now run back-to-back with the British GP on June 30.

With the planned June New Jersey GP already postponed, the calendar had slipped back to 19 races from this year's record 20, and moving the German race has allowed July 21 to be added to the calendar to host a further European event.

It is believed that Turkey, which was not on the 2012 calendar after the organisers were unable to reach an agreement with Formula One Management over hosting fees, is most likely to rejoin the schedule.

If that proves not to be possible, an Austrian GP at the reopened A1-Ring is also being mooted.

Formula 1's summer break will therefore still commence after the Hungarian GP on July 28 and will still be ended by the Belgian GP on August 25.
