Weather to play hand in title decider?

While Ferrari stopped short of admitting that they may need a little divine intervention if Fernando Alonso is to stop Sebastian Vettel achieving a hat-trick of world titles on Sunday, it looks as if unsettled whether could well be a factor in the Brazilian GP.

Vettel goes into the race with a 13-point advantage over Alonso and with a Red BUll chassis that has set the pace since the Singapore GP at the end of September. While the Sao Paulo weather is currently warm and sunny, that is expected to come to an end on Saturday evening, with rain then expected until the following Tuesday.

One weather forecasting source is antcipating 10mm of rain on race day alone, with a 96% chance of precipitation. That could play nicely into the hands of Alonso, who won the Malaysian GP in the wet and set pole positions at Silverstone and Hockenheim on a wet circuit.

"Fernando has been absolutely outstanding in those conditions ," said Ferrari technical director Pat Fry, "and it has been him, not the car."
