Hamilton confirms Scherzinger split

Lewis Hamilton has confirmed the end of his relationship with former Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger.

The 26-year-old 2008 world champion and 33-year-old Scherzinger have been together for almost four years but have reportedly found it increasingly difficult to reconcile their hectic lifestyles.

Scherzinger, who was originally slated to co-present the US X-Factor with Steve Jones, recently replaced Cheryl Cole as one of the judges instead, alongside Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and L.A. Reid.

In Korea, where Hamilton took a fine pole position and drove a race McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh described as 'inspired' to finish second, Lewis looked preoccupied. Whitmarsh hinted at what was on his driver's mind when he said that "professionally" all was well with him.

"We're friends at least and we can move forward," Hamilton told press men at the inaugural Indain GP when asked if had parted on good terms with Scherzinger.

"It's never easy. These times are sent to try you and it's about how you pull through them," he added. "I've got my family, who are helping, so I feel pretty good."
