Gallagher leaves Cosworth

Mark Gallagher, general manager of Cosworth's F1 business unit for the past two years, is leaving the company.

Gallagher, a co-owner of GP3 outfit Status Grand Prix, joined Cosworth two years ago after working with Lola during the new team tendering process and winning A1GP with Team Ireland, which he established in 2005.

"It has been a great privilege to run Cosworth's F1 business for over two years and work with such talented people," Gallagher said. "Next year will be my 30th in professional motorsport and I have a number of ambitions for the future, hence my decision to move on.

"They include helping Status Grand Prix and my partners Teddy Yip and David Kennedy to achieve their objectives in GP3 and beyond. It has been very rewarding to play my part in Cosworth's return to F1 and I wish the company, its management and staff every success for the future."

Status GP finished second in the inaugural GP3 championship last year with Rob Wickens and currently lies fourth in this year's series with Alexander Sims.
