Allison heads FOTA tech group

Renault's James Allison will head up the FOTA (Formula One Teams Association) Technical Regulations Working Group.

A position that was originally occupied by Ross Brawn before the Englishman stood down to concentrate on Mercedes matters, it was then taken over by Ferrari technical chief Aldo Costa prior to the restructuring at Ferrari after this year's Spanish GP.

Allison has been an Enstone stalwart since the early nineties and was appointed technical director two years ago amid a post 'Crashgate' restructure that saw Pat Symonds leave the team and Bob Bell appointed managing director. Bell subsequently left Renault for a new role at Mercedes earlier this year.
