Perez passed fit

Sergio Perez has been passed fit to race in the Canadian GP. The Sauber drive has been examined by FIA medical delegate Jean Charles Piette and track medics at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.

Perez revealed that in spite of the concussion suffered in a heavy impact during qualifying at the Monaco Grand Prix, he has been able to return home to Mexico before heading to the Canadian event.

"Everything is fine," Perez said. "As well as the tests they carried out here, we gave them our doctor notes and everything is okay. They released me from hospital on Monday after Monaco, I stayed two or three days just recovering from accident, then flew to Zurich for clinical checks, then back to Mexico.

"I was able to spend some days at home, then went karting on the Mon/Tues and it was okay. It always helps after a big crash to drive something as soon as possible."
