Button tunes up with a triathlon

Jenson Button headed for Hawaii after the Australian GP, where he is due to compete in a triathlon this coming weekend, along with about 900 entrants.

Button first became inspired by the event while at the Club La Santa sports complex in Lanzarote, where he met some competitors training for the ultimate Iron man triathlon distance.

Button competes is a number of triathlons throughout the year, including the London Triathlon. The event involves a consecutive 1500m swim, 40km bike ride and then a 10k run.

He is known to want to graduate to the half iron man and ultimately full iron man endurance challenge - a 2.4 mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and then a marathon, which top class competitors complete in between eight and nine hours. His Mclaren team, however, is thought to be less enthusiastic.

McLaren team mate Lewis Hamilton, meanwhile, has returned to the UK to witness younger brother Nick™s racing debut in the Renault Clio Cup.
