Williams runs FW33

Williams F1 has started running with it's 2011 challenger, the FW33, using an interim livery today at Valencia.

With the team set to hold an official launch at a later date, and the new chassis is painted in all navy blue, and features this year's trends of higher front noses, and more sculpted sidepods.

Rubens Barrichello will run the car today, handing over to Pastor Maldonado on Wednesday.

Technical director Sam Michael said, "Until you start testing, you're never sure how you're going to stack up against the opposition, but we're optimistic. We think this is a good car, but we'll have a better overall picture in a few weeks time."

"The design of this year's car has been pretty smooth. We've improved our way of working by increasing the communication between the mechanical and aerodynamic departments, and that improved our decision making processes. It allowed us to increase the optimisation time spent on each part of the car."
