F1 television viewership rises

Following an exciting year in F1 this past season, Formula One Management (FOM) announced today that the television audience for Formula 1 increased by 1.3% in 2010.

FOM's figures for the television audience increased from 520m viewers in 2009 to 527m in 2010, and total coverage hours of 14,500 in 2009 versus 16,000 in 2010, in 187 countries.

FOM boss Bernie Ecclestone said, "Whilst 2010 has delivered some great things, 2011 promises even more as Formula One seeks to build upon the foundations laid in our emerging markets and enthral our audiences across the world."
