Kubica quick on the loose too

Robert Kubica recovered from the disappointment of his early retirement in the Japanese Grand Prix by taking third place overall in last weekend's Rallye d'Antibes in the south of France.

The Polish driver, a keen rally enthusiast, won his class and topped the time sheets on three of the 14 stages. Kubica recently expressed his disappointment that 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen will not be returning to F1 after his year of rallying with the Red Bull-backed Citroen team.

Raikkonen recently distanced himself from talk that Renault wanted him as Kubica's team mate at Renault although, truth told, Renault's rumoured financial position and the size of Raikkonen's previous F1 retainers always made them unlikely bed fellows. Right now, the Finn's rallying future looks anything but secure either.
