Racing man to be commercial chief of British Olympic Association

The British Olympic Association has appointed Hugh Chambers as its chief commercial officer. Chambers was a leading player in Prodrive from 1995 until 2005 during which time the company won multiple touring car, Le Mans and World Rally titles. In 2002 Chambers became the commercial director of the BAR Honda F1 team. He sold his shareholding in Prodrive in 2005 and set up his own marketing consultancy.

Prior to joining Prodrive he was involved in the advertising industry with Saatchi & Saatchi, Young 7 Rubicam and Hill & Knowlton, running global accounts such as Ford, P&G and Amex in over 30 countries.

"With Hugh taking on responsibility for the brand, communications and partner development at the BOA I know that we have someone with the very highest level of worldwide experience combining marketing and sport," said Andy Hunt, CEO of the BOA. "I also expect Hugh to play an important part in the new executive management team at the BOA, and look forward to working closely with him on all aspects of the commercial performance of our organisation."
