New TV deal in Asia

ESPN Star Sports has agreed to a new five-year deal with Formula One Management (FOM) for the exclusive rights to broadcast the FIA Formula 1 World Championship in 24 Asian markets. The deal includes television, Internet, mobile and radio rights to countries including India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea. It is the continuation of a 17-year long partnership which has been slowly building up the F1 audience in Asia.

"Formula 1 has enjoyed unprecedented growth in popularity throughout Asia over the last few years and we feel that this comprehensive new agreement with ESS will help continue this trend," said Bernie Ecclestone.
