F1 on the streets of Moscow

Hundreds of thousands of Russians turned out on Sunday to see a street demonstration put on by Holland's Rotterdam Racing and featuring Formula 1 cars from Williams and Red Bull Racing. Robert Heilbron, the man who dreamed up the idea, said that the event, which saw the cars running a track around Red Square and the Kremlin, said that he believes that it was "a historic day for Russian motorsports" which is the start of a new era for the country.

Nico Rosberg was at the wheel of a Williams while local hero Michael Aleshin drove the Red Bull, while a press conference with Sr Frank Williams attracted attracted more journalists than the visit of President Bush.

Another highlight of the day was a drifting show with a cast of international drivers sliding their cars around the streets.
