Spa extends Grand Prix contract to 2012
The Belgian Grand Prix dropped off the F1 calendar in 2006 but returned last year on a short-term deal, based on getting the finance sorted out. That now seems to be sorted out as the Belgian newspaper Le Soir is reporting that a new deal has been done to secure the future of the race until 2012. The evnt is being funded by the regional government of Wallonia.
The intention now is to negotiate a further extension to secure the race until 2015.
