Having people in the right places

Brendan Connor, who was chief executive of Cosworth Racing between 2001 and 2003, is one of the candidates in the running for the chairmanship of Advantage West Midlands, one of the nine regional development agencies in England that were established to help to create sustainable economic development. Advantage West Midlands has an annual budget of more than $600m to invest in the economic development of the West Midlands and, at any one time, is managing around 2,500 projects which are changing the lives of people right across our region.

Having someone who understand the racing world may help matters, particularly in relation to Silverstone and the British GP, which is an important event in the region.
