A diversion of Loeb - and for Renault

Triple World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb will be testing for Renault F1 at the start of next month in a test that is being planned at Paul Ricard. This will give the team a great deal of positive press in France. The test has been organised by one of the team's sponsors which also supports Loeb and it is safe to assume that this is TotalFinaElf, which backs Loeb with its Total brand and Renault with Elf. Loeb is no stranger to racing having competed several times in the Le Mans 24 Hours. The 33-year-old says that the test is only for his own pleasure so that he can see how he measures up against the F1 drivers. The WRC ends with the Wales Rally between November 30-December 2 and it is expected that the test will take place the following week. This will coincide with the FIA World Council meeting in Monaco.
