Bourdais takes four

Sebastien Bourdais won his fourth consecutive Champ Car title on Sunday with a commanding victory in the Gold Coast Indy 300. He finished the race nearly seven seconds clear of Justin Wilson. The race was led early on by local hero Will Power but his chances disappeared when he crashed into David Martinez in the pitlane. He later crashed while trying to pass Katherine Legge. Bourdais took the lead on lap 23 and stayed ahead for the rest of the afternoon.

Bourdais will now leave Newman Haas Racing and will join Scuderia Toro Rosso in F1 next year.

There is one more race left on the Champ Car calendar, in Mexico on November 11.
