Suzuka and Fuji to share Japanese GP
Fuji International Speedway and Suzuki are to share the Japanese Grand Prix. Fuji will get the race again in 2008 but in 2009 Suzuka will be back on the calendar and after that the two tracks will alternate.
The idea was suggested by Formula One Administration which which made it clear that there could not be two Grands Prix in Japan and Fuji's owners Toyota agreed that it would be better for all concerned if the two circuits did not get into a bidding war but rather worked together for the greater good of the sport.
