ING increases its spend

ING has taken the title sponsorship for the forthcoming Belgian Grand Prix. The Dutch bank is enjoying a very high profile in F1 despite the lack of success of the Renault F1 team, of which ING is the title sponsor. The company is supporting this sponsorship with considerable trackside advertising and a major print campaign, mainly in the financial press.

The late nature of the deal suggests that the deal may not be a huge one for Spa-Francorchamps but there is no doubt that every little is going to help this year as F1 tries to bring fans back to the remote Ardennes circuit. Given the costs involved in running F1 races these days, it is hard to balance the books.
