Honda grabs Owen from BMW Sauber

Honda has begun the technical restructuring of its Formula 1 team with the news that John Owen, a senior aerodynamicist at BMW Sauber has been appointed as the Brackley team's new head of aerodynamics. There are very few details at the moment but we understand that there will be further recruitments announced in the next few days.

Owen is doctor of aerodynamics from Imperial College of the University of London, and followed former Imperial student Seamus Mallarkey to Switzerland, after working on F1 aerodynamics for his PhD dissertation. That was in 2001 and since Owen has worked in Switzerland. The recruitment will be a big bonus for Honda as the team has a new wind tunnel, which is virtually identical to the Sauber facility.
