A nice quiet role for Tomita

Toyota Racing chairman and team principal Tsutomu Tomita is to become the new chairman of Fuji Speedway. Tomita will stand down from his role at Toyota Motorsport at the end of June and will be replaced by current vice chairman Tadashi Yamashina.

Fuji will this year take over the running of the Japanese Grand Prix once again, for the first time since 1977.

Tomita is happy to stay in contact with F1 in the move, but will remain only a couple of years as Toyota has a policy of compulsory retirement for its executives at the age of 65. He is now 63.
