Singapore gets a date in 08
Singapore Minister of State S Iswaran has told reporters in Singapore that the city will be holding a Formula 1 race next year in either late September or early October. It is not expected that the race will be a night event. The track is expected to be as planned with the government funding the construction of a pit garage complex in the Marina Promenade Park and the track winding its way through the streets of the Civic District and around Raffles Hotel.
Much of the funding for the race will come from Ong Beng Seng, the Singapore property billionaire but the government will be paying for the infrastructure work.
