Renault to build new CFD centre
Renault has won planning permission to build a new computational fluid design facility at the team's base at the Whiteways Technical Centre in Enstone. The new building will be partially underground and will be linked to the existing facilities. The new project will add another 13 staff to the 550 employed at Renault F1 in England. The team has just one windtunnel at the facility and it seems that unlike some other teams it has decided to use CFD more, a startegy which has been adopted in recent times by both BMW Sauber and Ferrari.
