Ambassador Goddard

Energy Efficient Motorsport, a programme which is run by Motorsport Development UK, a collaboration between the Department of Trade and Industry, four regional development agencies, the sport and the industry that supports it, has announced that Geoff Goddard, Professor in Motorsport Engineering Design at Oxford Brookes University, is to be its first EEMS Ambassador. His role will be to help stimulate energy efficiency in motorsport.

Goddard is a celebrated engine designer, who joined Cosworth Engineering in 1971 from Rolls Royce Aero Engines in Derby. He became Cosworth's chief designer before moving to TWR Engines in 1995 to be director and chief designer. With a strong of successful engine designs behind him in F1, Indycars and at Le Mans, he moved into academic life at Oxford Brookes in 2003, establishing MSc courses in motor racing subjects and a doctorate scheme for those in the F1 industry.
