Enge on the mend

Tomas Enge will be back in action on May 19 at the wheel of his Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning ALMS Ferrari in Salt Lake City, a month ahead of schedule. The Czech former F1 driver crashed heavily at St Petersburg on March 31, smashing his left elbow. This required a two hour operation but Enge's recovery has been impressive and his surgeons are now happy that he will be ready to return to racing.

"I am overjoyed," said Enge. "I am sure that my determination to get back was a big help in my recovery. I did everything what I could have done and I think that I was an extraordinary obedient and cooperative patient. I cannot wait and I believe that I will be soon as quick as I was before the accident."

Enge hopes to be fully fit to race an Aston Martin DBR9 at the Le Mans 24 Hours in June.
