What is not happening...

Today is April 1 and the gullible out there will be shocked to hear that Formula 1 is being split into two categories now that McLaren has acquired Williams. One might question the story that Heikki Kovalainen was fastest in testing in Kuala Lumpur but that seems to be true and no doubt was achieved to cheer up the Finn after his less than sensational debut in Australia.

The other story that is true is that opera-singing engineer Giorgio Ascanelli has left his job as technical head of the Maserati competition department to be technical director of Scuderia Toro Rosso, a team which (so some claim) does not even build its own F1 cars.

Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction.
