Gil's little holiday

Honda Racing F1's Gil de Ferran is a busy man and so decided to take his family off for a little holiday in Florida at the weekend. The De Ferran Family is no stranger to the state, having lived there for many years when Gil was racing Indycars, and the schools are currently on holiday in England so that made sense but there are some who suspect that turning up at Homestead to see the opening round of the IndyCar Series was more than just a social call to catch up with old friends.

Honda has been testing Marco Andretti is recent months and there is no doubt that the team is interested in him, possibly even in F1 in 2008 when it is possible that he could join Jenson Button in the team, if Honda decides not to renew the contract with Rubens Barrichello - and Michael Andretti could be convinced to release his son from the contract that they have for him to race in America.

Andretti hopes to achieve great things this year in the US so as to open the way for a bigger career in the longterm. Andretti Green Racing was unable to match the pace of Target Chip Ganassi Racing and Penske in Homestead but hopes that it will be closer as the season progresses. Honda is having similar problems in F1.
