A very messy business

There has been some significant action in the High Court in recent days between the FIA director of communications Richard Woods and Tom Rubython, the editor of BusinessF1 Magazine. Both sides have issued press statements claiming victory. This is a very complicated story but there have been a number of law suits between FIA people and Rubython in recent years. On Wednesday Woods was awarded the maximum damages available in this form of libel, plus costs and an apology for what was described by Woods's lawyer as "an unrestrained attack" on him in the magazine. Rubython was also awarded damages and costs as the result of a counter-claim (also for libel) resulting from an Internet article written by Woods.

We are awaiting the official legal decisions after which we will endeavour to form a clearer opinion in this matter.
