Davidson in hospital

Anthony Davidson ended his race day in Australia in hospital with severe back pain resulting from his collision with Spyker's Adrian Sutil early in the race. In the course of the incident Anthony's Super Aguri was launched into the air and landed heavily, jarring Davidson. The car was badly damaged but Anthony drove on to finish a gritty 16th but the pain was by then so bad that he was sent off for treatment. He will be back in action in time for the Malaysian GP. This is convenient as the team's reserve driver is Giedo Van der Garde who is currently in dispute with the team because he wants to join Spyker but cannot do so until he reaches a settlement with Super Aguri. The team will have to ask him to stand in for Davidson if Anthony is not fit - if only because it would weaken the team's legal position if it picked someone else.
