The clock is ticking for TW

With just a few days before the V8 Supercar series gets underway in Australia with Adelaide's Clipsal 500, there is still no official clarification as to whether or not Holden will be allowed to race. The problems began a few days ago when the organisers banned the Holden Racing Team and the HSV Dealer Team because of suspicions that both were owned by Tom Walkinshaw - which is against the rules. The organisers had been trying for some months to get the documentation to clarify the situation but none was forthcoming and so the licences of both teams were withdrawn. Walkinshaw owns Holden Special Vehicles, the road car operation and Walkinshaw Performance, which runs motorsport activities on behalf of the Holden company, and the organisers want to know exactly who owns what.

The scandal has led to calls for penalties to be imposed if it is established that the rules have been broken.
