Jos Verstappen's planned comeback in Champ Car seems to have died a death. The Dutchman had announced plans to be racing in the US series in 2007 but negotiations failed to secure him a drive, Jos apparently finding that there are no teams willing to take a driver who wants to be paid. This may indicate one of two things: the first that the teams need the money; or perhaps that Verstappen wants to be paid more than the Americans are willing to spend for someone with his record. Verstappen had been linked to deals with both the Forsythe and Minardi USA operations.
