Toro Rosso confirms Liuzzi but Speed has to wait

Scuderia Toro Rosso has confirmed that Vitantonio Liuzzi will remain with the team this season, but Scott Speed is still waiting because of "contractual issues" that need to be sorted out. The logical explanation for this is that the team wants Speed to agree to terms that he is not keen to commit to, perhaps a longer contract than one year. Dropping the young American would not be a great idea at this moment unless there is a suitable replacement as he knows the team and has shown some promise in his first season of F1.

Speed may not want to commit to the team in the longer term because there are no guarantees that the performance will improve and he may want to keep his options elsewhere.
