The Spa test gets the go-ahead

There have been discussions in recent days about a Formula 1 test at Spa and the word is that this has now been given the go-aheead with the teams heading to Belgium immediately after the British GP for three days of running. This will add to the pressure in that part of the year when there are six races in nine weekends.

The test has come about because Spa is now a permanent circuit rather than closed public roads and teams want to see the changes that have been in the recent rebuilding that was demanded by the F1 authorities. This means that several corners have been reprofiled and teams want to see the effect of these changes.

The organisers are delighted as this will give them more chance to earn money from the F1 activities and will get interesting going in the run up to the race.
