JANUARY 9, 2007

Ladies and gentlemen, the 2007 cars

The new Formula 1 cars for 2007 begin to arrive this year with Toyota winning the race to get a car running first. The new Toyota will appear on Friday, two days before Ferrari plans its launch. Monday, January 15, will see the new McLaren unveiled and the following day the BMW Sauber will be seen for the first time. Renault is due to follow on January 24, a day ahead of the new Honda. The new Williams will then appear on February 2 with the smaller teams following after that. The big question is when the Red Bull first appears as many teams are watching for this car to decide whether or not they are going to challenge the legality of the arrangement between Red Bull Racing, Red Bull Technology and Scuderia Toro Rosso.

The signs are that this could get very messy as teams are promising a robust approach if the cars are identical.
