McLaren picks up ex-Honda aerodynamicist

Honda Racing F1 has been hiring aerodynamic staff like there is no tomorrow in recent months as it expands its aero programme from one windtunnel to two. In the last nine months the team has taken on 35 staff and more are coming but in the process there have been changes as well following the appointment of Mariano Alperin as the head of aerodynamics. One of these was the departure of Simon Lacey, who worked alongside Alperin for several years under Geoff Willis. When Alperin was promoted to his new role, it was not surprising that Lacey decided to look around and he has now been picked up by McLaren to be its new chief aerodynamicist.
