Montoya fourth fastest in first ARCA practice at Talladega
F1 refugee Juan Pablo Montoya will race today in the Food World 250 at Talladega Superspeedway and began his stock car career with a lap of 191.765mph in a draft with four other drivers. Montoya is taking part in races this year to learn the skills of drafting (using others cars to gain more speed) in preparation for future races in the NASCAR Busch and Nextel Cup races later this year. The biggest challenge for young NASCAR drivers is learning how to keep their cars stable in the draft.
