Zuber tops GP2 tests at Paul Ricard

Andreas Zuber, the Dubai-based Austrian, topped the timesheets of a major GP2 test at Paul Ricard as a new generation of GP2 drivers began testing for the first time. Zuber, driving for iSport International, was two-tenths faster than Giorgio Pantano, who is now with Campos Racing while former F1 driver Antonio Pizzonia (FMS), Ernesto Viso (Trident) and Fairuz Fauzy (Durango) were all close behind.

Jose Maria Lopez was next, having switched to BCN Competicion but blotted his record with a big shunt on the first day.Kaziki Nakajima was next up in his DAMS car but he too had an off at one point.

Regular GP2 men Lucas Di Grassi (Super Nova International) and Franck Perera (FMS) were next ahead DAMS's new boy Kohei Hirate. Among the 30-odd drivers in action were Bruno Senna (DPR), Alx Danielsson (iSport International), Adrian Zaugg (Arden), Mike Conway (Arden), Guillaume MoreauÊ (ART) and Charlie Kimball (Arden).
