Montoya to go testing tomorrow

Juan Pablo Montoya has been released from his McLaren contract and is now free to begin preparation work for his NASCAR Nextel Cup programme next year. NASCAR team owner Chip Ganassi intends to get into action straight away and will run Montoya on Monday in an Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) car at Talladega. ARCA's cars are similar to those used in NASCAR and many of them were previously used in the Nextel Cup. The racing includes young professional racers on their way up and top-level amateurs. The next step will be to get Montoya into races and there are plans for him to run in ARCA, NASCAR Busch and NASCAR Nextel Cup races before the end of the year.
