Hungarians bidding for February race?
The Hungaroring is used by the Hungarian government to publicise the joys of the country. However in order for the F1 journalists to extol the many virtues of Hungary they need to pay for Internet access. The rate being charged this year at the Hungaroring may well set a new world record, even in the inflated world of telecommunication costs, with the journalists being asked to pay by the minute. Irritated scribes have worked out that access for a month works at the bargain basement rate of $28,500, which is rather more than most people are paying at home, where it costs around $15 a month.
The good news is that in February the service would only cost $25,800 for the month.
Perhaps therefore the Hungarian GP should be in February - for snowmobiles.
