Prodrive wins council support for F1 base

Prodrive has won the support of the Warwick District Council planning committee for its planned development at the former Honiley Airfield at Wroxall in Warwickshire. The permission covers an advanced engineering research and development campus, a conference facility called the Catalyst Centre and new access road, a roundabout, infrastructure, parking and landscaping.

The plans have still got to go to the new Department for Communities and Local Government, which was created in May under the leadership of Ruth Kelly. This now body looks after housing, urban regeneration, planning and local government. If the department gives the go ahead then the project can go ahead but if not it may still have to go to a public enquiry.
