Lane-Nott stands down

Roger Lane-Nott, who has been the Club Secretary of the British Racing Drivers' Club for the last seven years, is to stand down from his role. Prior to joining the BRDC, Lane-Nott was briefly FIA Race Director and Safety Delegate although that job lasted just one during which he battled with other FIA officials over how the series should be run.

Prior to that the 61-year-old was a Rear Admiral in the Royal Navy and chief of staff to the Commander-in-Chief of the Fleet after an impressive career in submarines, which included service in the Falklands War of 1982 when he was in command of HMS Splendid, a British submarine which sat on the bottom of the River Plate, monitoring any Argentine movements and dissuading the local navy from leaving port.
