Wurz to drive for Williams in 2007

Alexander Wurz will drive for the Williams team in 2007. This means that Mark Webber will have to find work elsewhere, as Williams has a contract with Nico Rosberg.

Wurz has been around Formula 1 for a long time, having made his debut as long ago as 1997 when he stood in for Gerhard Berger in the Benetton team. His performances earned him a fulltime job in 1998 and he scored a number of good finishes that year and battled Michael Schumacher for the lead at Monaco - a suspension failure as a result of one of their bumps resulted in a big shunt and in Canada he had another spectacular accident. Although he was retained by Benetton in 1999 and 2000 he failed to reproduce the excitement of that first season and he ended up stuck as a test driver with McLaren and more recently with Williams.
