The pecking order at Red Bull

With Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso both in North America at the moment with all six drivers, Red Bull Racing had to look elsewhere for a driver when it wanted to do some aerodynamic mapping work at Silverstone. The team thus decided to look further down the list of Red Bull drivers and called up Germany's Michael Ammermuller, who drives for the Red Bull-sponsored Arden International GP2. The 20-year-old made a big step this year, leaping straight from Formula Renault to GP2 and has done well and while he is expected to have at least one more year in GP2, there are hopes that he will one day join one of the Red Bull teams, in the footsteps of David Coulthard, Christian Klien, Robert Doornbos, Tonio Liuzzi, Scott Speed and Neel Jani. Ammermuller completed a series of runs at Silverstone.
