Barnard still in the game

John Barnard, the former McLaren, Ferrari and Benetton F1 technical director, has announced plans to work with the engineering firm Ricardo to create a MotoGP team. After leaving F1 Barnard, one of the great innovators in F1, spent a couple of years working with Kenny Roberts's team.

Barnard's company B3 Technologies Ltd continues to supply components to teams in Formula 1 as well as diverse programmes which include the satellite and aerospace industries, medical equipment and deep-sea exploration. B3 Technologies and Ricardo are planning to get together to apply advanced technologies and engineering skills in MotoGP and are currently looking for partners and sponsors to start a team.

B3 Technologies Ltd grew out of Ferrari Design and Development Ltd that was set up by Ferrari in 1992 to gain access to technology being pioneered in the UK.
